MONTHLY DISHCLOTH CHALLENGE Information
Your job will be to make your own page, please only one page per person. You can then add your pictures to your page whenever you finish a KAL. When you go to put a new picture on the blog, go to your post and "edit" it to add a new picture. Duplicate posts will be deleted. PLEASE label your page with your name or a distinct way to know it's you; such as "Andi in MD". All non-KAL posts will result in removal of membership.
For those who can not take pictures, I do not want to exclude you and I will take your word that you finished the cloth. Just type in "January cloth - finished 1/7/08" (or whenever you really finished it).
Please put your new cloths under the first cloth. So, the "Football" should be the first picture, then the "Diamonds on Lace". Only 1 picture per cloth unless you put them side by side. If you need help, I'll do my best to help.
I'm starting a prize box to be awarded to one knitter who has knitted all 24 cloths. The winner will be announced on December 31, 2008. You should be able to see the prizes to the right on this blog. Please check out the web sites of our wonderful sponsors.
Since we are only allowed 100 bloggers, I will have to delete members that just aren't posting new cloths and completely participating in the challenge. If you have not posted a new cloth in a 60 day period, I will have to remove you as a posting member. I'm sorry, but I want to let those that really want to complete the challenge to participate.
Thank you :)

This is my first post. I joined the group in late march and did my first KAL April 1st. So much fun!! I will post cloths in order. I sure hope I catch up soon. I have yarn for many of the missed cloths but some just wouldn't look right with the colors I have so I sent out an order yesterday. It takes about a week to get my order.
I did this cloth using size 6 needles and Peaches & Cream chocolate.
I did add a few stitches to make the cloth square.

January Midmonth in variegated.
March Mid Month. My rabbit illusion cloth done in leftover peaches and cream marroon and white. My son said he saw a mushroom.
Update, I gave this to my Mother in Law for Christmas with a bar of Maja soap and a Giraffe cloth.
July - Love to knit cloth. Still trying to use up this color....
July mid month - Went out and bought a new stash of yarn in colors I liked. I'm happy with this sugar and cream flecked. It's so cheerful.
Aug - This was some leftover orange yarn I had. Don't know what it was. Looks good though.
Aug mid month - I just love how this one turned out. This is more of my Sugar and cream flecked.
September - Little schoolhouse. As you can see I'm STILL using this color. Really cute cloth. Good for my Sons Teacher at Christmas.
September midmonth - Yet another blue cloth. This is a really big cable for a dishcloth and makes it really thick. This would be good for scrubbing.
October - This little guy is so cute! I'm keeping him! I was in Minnesota when I did this cloth. I did not have my stash with me. Couldn't find any of the colors at the local stores so I ended up getting Aunt Lydias tangerine - double strands. Turned out good but small.
Oct mid month - Was in Minn when I did this. Went to Michaels and fell in love with this sugar and cream. Turns out several other people bought the exact same color.
November - This picture emerging was a pleasant surprise. This was my first use of the "I love this cotton" yarn. It's softer and also fuzzier than the other yarns. I haven't decided yet if I like it or not.
The December MidMonth is an absolutely lovely pattern. I really like this one. And I like the yarn too. This one was done in Sugar and Cream. It was nice when it came off the needles. For a while it was looking like a hat.

Well It's already July and I'm finally done the July KAL.. Was quite interesting cause with me being left handed the words were backwards on it.. Had to try to read from the wrong side.. lol. and even then it was difficult cause the lines to cross a t or dot an i didnt show up like on the right side.. Was great fun though and had lots of laughs between myself and my husband cause neither of us could figure it out till i turned it over.. I really did enjoy this one though..
Thanks again for a great pattern..

This makes my challenge completed! =-) Then again I have found there was only one I missed since I started this group in November 2005 I think it was. Thanks for the fun. I do not think I will join next years challenge though. My yarn budget is very tight, I never use green if I can avoid it. =-( I may wait and see. 4 have been given away already with the rest to go in less than a month. I do not always knit as the days come out for the last two years life has changed some more, I am still learning what life is like with out my parents, even though I have lived 2 hours away for 24 years. Que sira sira!

All my dishcloths to date
I finally got the editor to let me post all my pictures.
I didn't do so well on this one, it's pretty but I must have gotten the colors mixed up. I'll try to do it over. I was confused with the pattern instructions after reading the comments. Knit on
Nice cloth, my yarn was too thick and uneven, like the color though.
May Mid Month Love the pattern and the color
June KA
Mid month June. I learned (the hard way) about yarn overs before purl stitches. Thanks again for all the fun Tinker
July 1 2008 I used a cotton & silk blend. Not so good for definition. Love the pattern. Tinker
This is my August dishcloth. I don't know what kind of leaf this is, but it turned out very good, I used a cast on learned at Stitches from Nancy Bush We're over half way!!!
"Little red schoolhouse" very cute. Thanks, tink
Sept MM was hard and I had a surprise B day party and company!! Got it done, finally!
October "Frankenstein" Peaches and cream. I guessed it on the second day!!! Fall fun. tink
Here it is! The last one and not a moment to spare. I had to redo this several times, but the finished product was worth it (as soon as my hair grows back) I made it. Have signed up for 2009. I have decided to use only peaches or sugar and cream as they seem to give the best stitch definition. Congrats to all you other challengers for finishing. Knit on.

Lara in SC/CA
January 2008 - Football. Lion Brand Kitchen Cotton - Fern Green.
Hard to see the football in the dark green, but it's there!

January 2008 mid-month - Diamond Lace. Sugar & Cream - Summer Splash.
I really like this pattern - Will probably end up making another at some point.

February 2008 - Candybox. Lion Brand Kitchen Cotton - Pastel Pink.
Took me a while to realize what this one was. Actually had to look at what other people were calling it - felt like it was a Magic Eye! 'Course it didn't help that I was looking at the side where it didn't 'pop' quite as strongly :)

Really like this pattern - went very quickly (once you factor out the move cross-country) so will definitely make this one again :)
No, the picture isn't backwards - I am! I'm a lefty, and my images come out reversed. Most of the time, it doesn't matter, so I correct only when I have to :)
I have a bunny myself, so bunnies aren't just an Easter thing for me. Because of that, I wanted my dishcloth to not be so seasonal, so no pastels. I also adjusted the top of his head/ears a little, so they are more defined and less 'flat-top.' Already have a second one of these on the needles, this time reversed (bright bunny, black background).
April 2008 - In the Meadow. Lion Brand Kitchen Cotton - Pastel Pink.

June 2008 - Palm Tree. Peaches & Cream - Light Green.

June mid-month 2008 - Lacy Waterfalls. Lily Sugar & Cream - Playtime Recreation (?)
Not really much to say about this one. Like the way it came out, but a big too much counting for good TV knitting for me.
July 2008 - Love to Knit. Peaches & Cream - Light Green, mostly. Also some P&C in pale blue & yellow.Being a lefty, I had to concentrate a little harder to make sure the letters weren't backwards. Maybe that's why this one took so long.
July mid-month 2008 - Summer Breeze. Lily Sugar & Cream - Playtime Recreation (?)
Really like this one - very fast knit! Only one movie's worth of time!
August 2008 - Redbud Leaf. Peaches & Creme - YellowNot as fond of the picture dishcloths (prefer the overall patterned ones) but really like this one. Nice and simple.
August mid-month 2008 - Elvish Leaves. Lily Sugar & Cream - Playtime Recreation (?)
Like this one a lot. The pattern looks neat even in the variegated yarn (though, that does mean it's hard to photograph)
September 2008 - Schoolhouse. Peaches & Creme - Light Blue.
Very cute little pattern. Can see making this as a washcloth for some teacher friends of mine.
September mid-month 2008 - Woven Cables. Lily Sugar & Cream - Playtime Recreation (?)
Very quick knit, and nice and bumpy from the cables (my two biggest criteria for a favored dishcloth pattern!)
October 2008 - Frankenstein's Monster. Peaches & Creme - Yellow.
Kinda a cute monster, really :) I like the little scars on his face.
October mid-month 2008 - Autumn's Country Quilt. Sugar & Cream - Playtime Recreation (?).
Hard to see the squares in there, but they're there!
November 2008 - Native American. Peaches & Creme - Light Blue.
Reminds me a lot of a high school mascot near where I grew up (that's why it's in light blue - KHS colors are blue & red)
November mid-month 2008 - Illusion Candy Cane. Peaches & Creme - Red and Kelly Green.
December 2008 - Grandma's Favorite Snowman. Sugar & Cream - Summer Splash & Playtime Recreation (?).
I made this one twice, since the written directions had an error or two in there - ended up looking like my snowman was melting! The green one was made looking at the chart, and came out very nicely.
December mid-month 2008 - Doily-style Poinsettia. Sugar & Cream - Summer Splash.
LOVE this one. Already started on a second one. 'Course I'm a sucker for spirally lace projects :)
Made it!! Challenge complete!

Here is the first KAL of the year. It turned out to be a football, which is so appropriate for January. It was created with Sugar'n Cream Ecru cotton yarn and #7 needles. Designer was Kimberly of Bunny Stamping.

The mid-January KAL was called Diamonds on Lace, and was designed by Janet Nogle. It was a quick, easy knit. Mine is made with Peaches'n Creme Fiesta Ombre, with #7 needles.

February '08 - This is the Valentine Candy Box, done in Rose Pink Sugar'n Cream yarn, on #7 needles. It was fun and I figured out what it was, when I started making the horizontal ribbon and the bow. It was designed by Susan Mrenna, of Knit A Little.

Mid-February KAL - This one is called Finders Keepers, and was designed by Sue Schaefer. Sugar'n Cream rose pink and dark pine and worked on US6 needles. I enjoyed knitting this one. It went together quickly.

March KAL - The Empty Tomb, by Lindy! It was perfect, since Easter is in March. Knit with Tan Sugar'n Cream and #7 needles.

Mid-March KAL - The Easter Bunny, by Cheryl Edwards. What a cute dishcloth! SnC Ecru yarn and P&C light blue yarn, with #6 needles. It's an illusion cloth, so it's better seen at an angle.

April KAL - The Meadow, by Lindy. I used Denim Prints Sugar'n Cream yarn, with #7 needles. It was a perfect spring cloth!

Mid-April KAL - Dots within Stripes, by Vicky, knit with light blue and yellow Peaches & Creme yarn, on US 7 needles. I think this one would be fun in lots of different color combinations!

May KAL - The Wedding Bands by Kathleen Brundige. It has a 2-hearts-become-one theme, which is great for a new bride! I can't wait to send mine to my cousin who just got married last month. It was knit in Sugar'n Cream soft teal.

This is the Mid-May KAL. It is called Every Day, Any Day, by Sue Schaefer of Harvest Moon Designs. It was knit with Sugar'n Cream stripes in a patriotic colorway. It ran, when I got it wet, to block it. I think it gives it a tie-dye effect!

June 2008 KAL, made with 54 Baby Green Peaches & Creme and #7 needles. Makes me want to take a tropical vacation! Designed by Andi Worthy.
The Mid-June KAL is called Lacy Waterfalls and was designed by Jamie Monaghan. I knit it with Peaches & Creme 181 Faded Denim and US 7 needles.

The July KAL was Love to Knit! (or "heart" to knit). It was designed by Alice Imholte. I made it with light blue Sugar'n Cream yarn on #7 needles.

Mid-July 2008 - Summer Breeze, by Sue Schaefer, knit with Aqua Mist Ombre Peaches & Creme yarn, on US 7 needles. (Pretty!)

August 2008 - Redbud Leaf by Susan Mrenna, worked with Sugar'n Cream Yellow, and a bit of Sugar'n Cream Country Sage green. I had 1-1/2 rows, plus the bind-off, to go, when I ran out of yellow! Worked with US 7 needles.

Mid-August 2008 - Elvish Leaves by Kelley. It was knit with Peaches & Creme peppercorn ombre, that was in my stash, on US 7 needles.

September 2008. It's a schoolhouse, designed by Andi Worthy, complete with belltower and flag. It was knit with Ecru Sugar'n Cream on #7 needles.

Mid-September 2008 - Woven Cables designed by Jamie Monaghan. I love the textured design that it gave us. Knitted with Pretty Pastels (199) Sugar'n Cream, on #7 needles.

October 2008 - Frankenstein, designed by Brian Riley. Dark green yarn on #7 needles

Mid-October - Autumn Country Quilt by Sue Schaefer, done with Sugar'n Cream light blue on #6 needles.

November KAL - Native American design by Lisa Millan of DigKnitty Designs. It was worked with Sugar'n Cream Ecru yarn on US 7 needles.

Mid-November KAL - Candy Cane Illusion cloth designed by Shelly Hattan. Worked with Peaches & Creme red(95) and white, on US 6 needles.

Mid-December KAL - Doily-Style Dishcloth from http://www.bernat.com. It was knit with Peaches & Creme Victorian Christmas yarn on various US 7 needles: First 6" bamboos, then Knit Pix nickel needles and then plastic circular needles! LOL! Would like to make it again, in a solid color!
